I offer a targeted approach to bring about desired change. My work with individuals and couples takes a relational, attachment and trauma informed lens. I am a passionate consultant and practitioner of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), a clinically proven intervention for the treatment of PTSD, phobias, addiction & most psychological issues.
I invite you to view your relationships & issues from a new perspective. Our work can look at stories that we have created about ourselves over time that can make us feel constrained. Long held issues that cause continued distress are weeded out, freeing you up to live a healthier, happier life.
Couple work is collaborative and invites you and your partner to feel more comfortable to experiment with new ideas. The opportunity to reflect on early family/ life experiences is a useful part of this process and can reflect how our ideas of the world have been shaped. My additional specialist training with the Gottman Institute allows me to provide cutting edge interventions that are both dynamic & fun and help deepen the connection with your partner.
My private practice is based in London where I offer online therapy and supervision to individuals, groups, couples, families, children and young people.
I am a registered Systemic Family therapist and Integrative Psychotherapist with extensive skills, training and experience in attachment, CBT, the Gottman Institute (couple therapy) and a number of different trauma focused interventions. I have 20 years experience in both private practice, voluntary addiction services and the public sector in the UK, Ireland and Middle East.
I am a Europe accredited EMDR consultant and EMDR child and adolescent practitioner.
As a specialist trauma therapist I draw on a number of different trauma-specific models, these include; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing), Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM/ developed by Lisa Swartz), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and parts work. I further integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative therapy into my work to facilitate personal growth and healing.
Psycho-education is a key part of my clinical work. I am interested in providing interventions which draw from the fields of neuroscience in their treatment of attachment & trauma. I regularly attend intensive workshops with some of the world's leading experts in order to keep abreast of the most up to date developments in the field of psychotherapy.
I am an accredited member of the Association for Family Therapy (AFT), UK & Europe EMDR Association & the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
As well as private practice I offer group work facilitation, trauma focused training and EMDR consultation to individuals, groups & organisations (CAMHS, local authorities & voluntary organisations) in the UK, Ireland & Egypt.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
