I have been a practising family and systemic psychotherapist for over 20 years working within social care and the NHS. I have worked in Children and adult services helping people in close relationships or supportive roles work together towards improving understanding and creating positive change. I seek to support and enable people to repair troubled relationships, work towards resolving conflicts and improve communication difficulties. Family therapy sessions can facilitate family members to listen to each other improving understanding and interactions. In sessions families can practice skills to deepen family connections and develop strategies to get through stressful times, bringing people closer together. It can help people identify and build on strengths and develop a deeper understanding of each other’s experiences and views. This appreciation of each other’s needs and perspectives helps equip families to better deal with crisis or difficulties as they arise.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
