I am a very experienced psychotherapist, having worked for 12 years in the NHS (adult mental health) before moving into an academic position where I trained others to become counsellors. I have also researched several related topics, including eating disorders, recovery from child sexual abuse trauma, and parenting issues. I now run a small private practice as a therapist, supervisor and consultant.
My whole approach is centred on the importance of a healthy and positive therapeutic relationship. To this end, I work collaboratively with my clients. I will work hard to ensure that you feel as safe as it is possible to feel, in order to undertake the work you feel you need to do.
We will use creative and embodied methods where appropriate, to enable you to explore issues more deeply, without the pressure always to find the right words in order to express how you feel.
