My Approach

Many of us experience great difficulties at some point in our lives, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, distressed and alone. Yet, we often stop short of voicing our thoughts and feelings to those close to us for fear of upsetting or imposing ourselves on others. In my experience, life crises and change, whether in health, relationships, or work, are a call from that most private and creative part of ourselves, the soul. Every individual has unique experiences, strengths, and challenges that shape their journey through life, and I work to support my clients to understand and integrate these different aspects of themselves.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches (Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Gestalt, Existential & Transpersonal) and techniques (including talking therapy, sand-play, dreamwork, CBT, TA, breath work, creative imagination, somatic bodywork and mindfulness) and tailor them to the needs of each client. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and I create a more comprehensive and effective therapy through combination. I also recognise the importance of spirituality in shaping our experiences and understanding of the world. Where appropriate, I work with my clients to explore their spiritual beliefs and experiences and integrate these into the therapeutic journey.

I endeavour to create a safe, non-judgmental and creative space for my clients to explore their inner selves and to address the challenges they are experiencing. I work with my clients to develop a shared understanding of their goals and how to work together to achieve them. I have experience in both short (8-12 sessions) and longer-term psychotherapy with clients of diverse cultures, ethnicities, genders and orientations.

In summary, my approach to therapy is integrative and transpersonal, supporting my clients in achieving greater self-awareness, personal growth, and a more profound sense of meaning and purpose in their lives.

About Me

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I had a twenty-five-year career as a management consultant and business executive.

I trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) through an initial one-year foundation and a four-year Post-Graduate Diploma. I then undertook a two-year research master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychotherapy via the University of Northampton. In addition, I hold certificates in Advanced Gestalt Group Facilitation.

I began counselling at The Caravan, in St James’ Piccadilly, followed by three years as a therapist with FreshStart psychotherapy. In parallel, I also undertook an extensive psychiatric placement at the Maudsley Hospital as a member of the Chaplaincy.

I now hold an in-person private practice at the CCPE in Little Venice, Paddington in London. I do not offer online therapy at this time.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a group facilitator for businesses and public sector organisations. I am also a group facilitator for trainee psychotherapists and a member of the academic team at the CCPE. If you are curious about working with me, you can email, call or text and we can arrange a twenty-minute introductory meeting in which you can tell me about yourself, and I can answer any questions you might have and explain a little more about what to expect and how I work.

I am an accredited member of the UKCP and uphold the ethical responsibilities required in professional practice, including regular clinical supervision. I am also a member of the Association of Transpersonal Psychotherapy (ATP) and a Friend of the Temenos Academy.
