My Approach

I offer an embodied, multi-modal, creative, humanistic to Psychotherapy with a Jungian and anthropological underpinning. Within this approach I integrate a range of creative arts media alongside talking in order to give you the opportunity to explore your relationship to yourself, others and the world around you in a safe, contained, gentle, creative and playful environment.

About Me

I am a Dance Movement Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over twenty years of clinical experience. I work with people of all ages and abilities in the UK and internationally. I specialise in using a multi-modal approach within the psychotherapeutic process integrating dance and movement, story, visual imagery, writing, and voice. I create a space within which you have the opportunity to explore your relationship to yourself and others in a safe, caring, creative and playful environment. I work in York and North Yorkshire.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have experience of working with people across the lifespan looking at areas including emerging adulthood; maternal mental health; menopause; the emotional, mental and physical changes that occur in the later stages of life. I have also worked with adults with dementia and their carers.
I have experience of working with anxiety and depression in response to work demands, relationships, social integration, communication difficulties, questions about identity, loss and bereavement
I have experience of working with health-related issues including working with people who have cancer, ME and physical disabilities.
I have worked as a Clinical Supervisor since 2005. I use a creative embodied approach to supervision to enable my supervisees to reflect on the therapeutic process and relationships; their role as a therapist; and their professional development.
I have experience of working with people who have experienced trauma for example in response to war and forced displacement, sexual abuse, and domestic abuse.
