I have worked in Private practice and on trainings for 30 years within the psychoanalytic tradition which seeks to understand the unconscious origins of present difficulties, so face to face sessions give an ideal opportunity for this experience.I also now work with Zoom and FaceTime.
This study in trainings together with my private practice has given me an unusually broad experience of people’s lives.
In our fast-moving stressful digital age of virtual reality and social media, ordinary everyday identity can feel confusing. In facing difficult life situations we get disoriented as we struggle with old problems, originally unattended to, now triggered by our online virtual identity experience. We try to push the issue away, not realizing we are pushing it into our unconscious, which means it will reappear again embarrassingly just when it’s not wanted. This aspect of the modern world all to often demands sameness / similarity, a false self, as opposed to originality, unique qualities of our true selves.
I offer my 30 years of professional experience working as an analytical psychotherapist and supervisor, to help you in a confidential safe setting, to explore and understand the origin of your worries, fantasies, anxieties and fears, to create an embodied living language of thoughts and feelings.
Talking and listening in this particular therapeutic dialogue and setting has a long history, not only to relieve suffering, but to help you achieve a deeper self understanding for a more creative attitude to life. Every therapy is unique, some lengthy, some surprisingly brief.
