My Approach

I take a holistic approach, believing human beings are multi dimensional with many conscious and unconscious aspects of their selves. I offer an honest, supportive, non-judgemental and warm environment for you to explore the full range of your experiences. While I do not pathologise or diagnose anyone, I support and welcome anyone receiving medical support for their mental health.

I work with a wide range of events and associated issues, some of these include relationships, trauma, oppression, bereavement, abuse, identity, trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression. I particularly welcome clients wishing to explore gender identity, transition, sexuality and other LGBTQIA issues.

My psychotherapy training is based in a Humanistic and Integrative approach. This means I believe in the unique perspective of each individual and draw from different theoretical approaches to support and value you for who you are. Many of us have parts of ourself we do not like or wish to change, and I offer a compassion based approach to getting to know our more difficult parts of self.

I view the relationship between us as important and part of the healing process. Therapy is a collaborative and shared journey we will co-create. Many difficult feelings and experiences may be the product of our relationships; the therapeutic relationship can not only help us to better understand our connection with others but also our relationship with ourselves.

I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist with both long term psychotherapy and short term counselling experience. I have had a private psychotherapy practice since 2017. I am currently available for clients seeking short term work on a remote basis via Skype or Zoom. I offer a free 20 minute initial conversation, please email me if you would like to schedule one.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I can provide a safe space to explore the experience of anxiety, both as a lived experience and exploring both the client's past and current context to help understanding contributing factors. I can also offer a range of techniques to deal with overwhelming anxiety.
Sexuality often goes hand in hand with gender, and I provide a wealth of knowledge and experience in the subject which I can offer to clients. It is my belief that LGBTQ+ people exist in endless forms and sexuality and gender have innumerable expressions. I am here to help you understand your own unique identity.
Spirituality can take many forms. I offer a non judgemental space to explore experiences and difficulties with spirituality, both through a religious and non religious lens.
I have extensive experience working with gender identity, exploration, dysphoria, and transition. My approach is non judgemental and affirming, I seek to offer a safe forum for people to discuss their lived experience, desires, and fears of exploring their gender. I do not offer opinions on what people's identities might be, nor whether they should transition or not. On a personal level, I am a transgender person and my lived experience informs my approach.
Trauma is a common experience that can have a major impact on people's ability to function the way they want to. I offer a safe and well held space to explore traumatic events and their impact.
