The West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy (WMIP) was established for the promotion and advancement of the study and research into all matters relating to psychotherapy, and the dissemination of the useful results of any such study and research, is for the benefit of the public.
WMIP provides a regular programme of events, lectures and seminars. These lectures are given by Institute members or visiting lecturers and are based on topics of interest to practising psychotherapists, and also those working in related fields such as medicine, nursing, social work, pastoral care and counselling

The Training in Analytical Psychotherapy at the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy was founded in 1990. It aims to provide an experience of learning from which its graduates will qualify as competent and responsible practitioners of Analytical Psychotherapy.
