This is the culmination of a huge amount of work to upgrade our digital systems, which has been going on for well over a year. We have learnt the lessons from the past and have made sure that members have been involved in the development of the new site at every stage, from consultations and workshops through to the project board which has included three members who have made invaluable contributions.

  • A responsive design
With increasing numbers of visitors using tablets and smartphones to access the website, we have worked closely with the developers to ensure it works on desktops, laptops, tablets and mobiles. Please take some time to familiarise yourselves with the site and let us know what you think.
  • This is just the first step
But, remember, today’s launch is just the first step. We have plans to grow the website over the next year. This may mean that everything you want may not be there just yet. So it’s important you tell us if anything is missing as we are already planning further enhancements.
  • Involving members
We know the old website has been a bone of contention for many of you since it was launched two years ago. That is why we have spent so long making sure we didn’t repeat the mistakes of the past.We have involved members at every stage of the process and we had three members sitting on the project board who have played a crucial role throughout development. We analysed the feedback members sent us by email and social media. We surveyed individual and organisational members, and UKCP committees. More of you were involved in the initial development stages when we presented at the Members’ Assembly and sought feedback and we have had members testing the site before it went live.

Updating your Find a Therapist profile

The most important thing for you to do now is to check and update your Find a Therapist profile. The Find a Therapist tool is now more prominently displayed on the home page with more search options included. In the interests of fairness, all search results will be randomised, giving everyone who matches the search filters an equal chance of appearing as the first result.

To help potential clients find you in search results you will need to update your profile with the relevant information about you and the services you offer, add an image and check your profile is correct.

We have developed a step-by-step guide to updating your profile – download it here.

FAQs and feedback

Many of you may have questions about the website, and we have developed a set of frequently asked questions to help you in the first instance. If you don’t see your question on the list, please get in touch and we’ll help you as best we can. Equally we want to hear your feedback. Please let us know what you think.
