Staff spotlight: Alex Crawford

Alex is UKCP’s Governance Manager. He joined UKCP in September 2008 after 9 years in the investment banking sector.

Alex is the ‘go-to’ person for all things to do with the UKCP elections (hopefully you will be casting your vote in the current elections). His role also includes:

  • supporting the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Finance and Audit Committee (FAC) and the Members’ Forum
  • organising and overseeing General Meetings (as required) and the recruitment of lay trustees and other key volunteer positions
  • administering the annual UKCP Honorary Fellowship Awards, the Trainee Bursary Scheme and providing support to the Chair and Chief Executive
  • overseeing and maintaining the constitutional documents (Articles, Byelaws and Standing Orders) which can be found here, keeping the Charity Commission and Companies House submissions/filings up-to-date and liaison with the UKCP lawyers

Other projects that fall within Alex’s remit are  the College Review and Volunteer Programme, and he is also responsible for maintaining the UKCP Risk Register. He recently undertook the new role of managing the new Governance Administration Officer, Eve Smith (profile coming soon).
