Would you like to get involved SCoPEd?
Scope of Practice and Education for the counselling and psychotherapy professions (SCoPEd) is a collaborative project between the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). It aims to agree a shared, evidence-based generic competence framework to inform the training requirements, competences and practice standards for counsellors and psychotherapists working with adults.
Work on this project is well underway. In early 2019, the first draft of the framework based on mapping the existing competences and practice standards was sent to members and stakeholders for consultation.
In response to member feedback the SCoPEd Steering Group and ERG are looking to widen the ERG by recruiting two additional members. These additional ERG members will contribute to the next version of the framework and will help to focus and resolve key areas of complexity, such as finding language for competences that is inclusive rather than modality-specific.
Please email your CV and a detailed application letter to Kathy Roe, (SCoPEd Project Team) firstname.lastname@example.org who is handling the recruitment on behalf of the three organisations. Or you can send it by post to BACP, BACP House, 15 St. John’s Business Park, Lutterworth, Leicestershire. LE17 4HB.
