Covid-19 article competition

In these challenging and fast-moving times, there are many questions about where psychotherapy sits within the current crisis. Some are therapist focused, some are client focused and many are much bigger questions in relation to society and what the future holds.

We know that our members have been thinking about these things too, and we would like those voices to be heard. We are therefore planning a special-issue publication of member articles, as we look for new ways to think about psychotherapy at this time.

Submit an article abstract

We are inviting abstracts of 250-300 words only as an expression of interest to submit a full-length piece. We will review these abstracts and ask the authors of the best pieces to write a full-length article of up to 2000 words publication. Those whose work is published will also be awarded a cash prize of £250.

What we are looking for

  • Academic or opinion pieces that aim to consider a specific question or arising issue in relation to the current COVID 19 crisis
  • These may be specifically focused on therapy or may have a broader scope around wellbeing and society
  • Work that addresses questions at the level of community. This may be other therapists, clients, or society as a whole
  • We will not be accepting any creative writing pieces.

Deadlines for abstracts and completed articles

The deadline for submission of abstracts is midnight, Sunday 2 August 2020. Abstracts should be submitted to: research@ukcp.org.uk

We will notify successful authors no later than Tuesday 1 September 2020, for submission of the full article by Monday 2 November 2020.
