Join our Executive Committee

Are you passionate about the future of UKCP and the psychotherapy profession? We are seeking a further registrant to join our Executive Committee.

Answerable to the Board of Trustees, our Executive Committee is tasked with supporting the Chief Executive in making our vision and strategic objectives a reality.

The Committee comprises members and senior staff and the work is varied, spanning all aspects and functions of our complex operation (including regulatory, legal, logistical, developmental, communications, events and much more) and sometimes challenging but always interesting. You will play a direct role in shaping our activities, determining how we best use of resources, futureproofing and making a positive impact for our members and for the public, our beneficiaries. Decisions are reached by consensus.

Please see our role descriptor for details about necessary skills, attributes and experience. We are particularly keen to receive applications from members with skills/experience in engagement or communications, and from demographic groups who are currently under-represented in our governance including disabled, Black, Asian and other minority ethnicities. You can access our current governance organogram here to see where the Committee sits organisationally.

You will be committed to attending six meetings per year – five of which are typically online so that your location won’t be an obstacle – plus one away day (in-person or hybrid). Advance preparation will be required, along with some remote contact in between meetings.

This is a voluntary position, but any necessary expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with our policy.

We welcome expressions of interest via a letter of no more than two sides on why you would like to join the Committee and how you meet the role descriptor by 12 noon on Friday, June 10 via email to governance@ukcp.org.uk. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet with a panel of Committee members for interview in the week beginning 20 June.
