Jovana Perzic UKCP Head of Academic Enterprise and Innovation

As Head of Academic Enterprise and Innovation, Jovana is passionate about education and business development.

Jovana's role at UKCP, which is part of the Senior Management Team and Executive Committee, is to enhance our individual and organisational membership offers and benefits, and create new corporate and educational partnerships. She is exploring ways to help our organisational members recruit more students. This includes support for students and trainees via the UKCP Bursary and developing and implementing innovative educational platforms to promote courses and increase public awareness of psychotherapy.

Jovana facilitates an evening course produced in partnership with Imperial College London. Called Understanding Psychotherapy, it promotes the art and science of psychotherapy and encourages people to join UKCP training courses.

Before joining UKCP, Jovana worked for a private higher education institution as Principal, Business Lecturer and Programme Leader for undergraduate and postgraduate business studies. Her responsibilities included looking after strategic business and educational development; managing partnerships; and improving service, quality and standards across the organisation. Her experience inspired her to research the management of quality in higher education as her PhD topic.

Drawing on her background in higher education, Jovana is keen to support UKCP’s network of members within academia. She is a member of the UKCP Education, Training and Practice Committee (ETPC), the UKCP Education Working Group (EWG) and a co-founder of the UKCP Higher Education Special Interest Group (HESIG) which promotes collaborative work in key areas relevant to the mental health of students and staff in higher education.
