Training Course Assessments, standards, role of training committee

Assessment is based on a combination of clinical and academic components in relation to the Programme Learning Outcomes for each training programme. Trainees are required to pass all elements of the assessment criteria to pass the course and obtain the qualification. Assessment is carried out in relation to agreed criteria and standards and is carried out annually. Each Programme has an assessment process, an assessment panel which includes an external examiner and a Training Committee which considers assessments and standards. For the academic programmes validated by Roehampton University the assessment decisions are approved via The Programme Exam Board, which meets at least twice a year and standards are monitored and considered by the Programme Board and the Academic Standards Committee. For all the Roehampton University validated programmes standards and assessments have to meet the Roehampton criteria as well as the WPF Counselling and Psychotherapy assessment criteria.
