UKCP responds to NICE Depression Guidelines

Yesterday UKCP submitted its formal response to the NICE Depression in Adults (update): draft guideline consultation.

Very many registrants took considerable trouble to let us know their thoughts and concerns. Some contained lengthy references to the relevant evidence, others provided their own anecdotal evidence. All were extremely forceful. They played a key part in helping James Antrican, who drafted the final document, to formulate his arguments in the manner and with the vigour that the situation demands.

Thank you to all who contributed, to those who helped collate the material and to James for his powerful submission.

This is, however, no more than a necessary first step in a continuing campaign to educate NICE into more enlightened ways.
