Janet Weisz Chair
Janet was recently elected Chair of UKCP. More about her will be put up on these pages shortly.
Janet has worked in both the public sector and private practice for the past twenty years. As well as maintaining a private practice, she works in the NHS as part of multi-disciplinary teams and has experienced firsthand the demanding pressures for change and evolution in the provision of psychological services. More of her time is now spent focusing on management and funding strategies, and on fighting to retain the service.
Janet was formerly the Chair of the Colleges and Faculties Committee at UKCP, where she guided the committee to enhance the collaboration between the Colleges and Faculties by maintaining cross-modality standards, considering approaches to diversity between the colleges, and approving College procedures for assessing organisational members' re-accreditation processes amongst many other activities.

David Pink Chief Executive
David began his career in the Department of Health as policy advisor to various Health Ministers and has worked on the previous Government's approach to quality in the NHS; one of these roles saw him have responsibility for setting up the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).
David was chief executive of the Long-term Conditions Alliance (LTCA) in 2002 and later was founding chief executive of National Voices, speaking out on behalf of a membership of more than 180 UK service user organisations.
As Chief Executive of UKCP and member of UKCP staff, David is working with the psychotherapy profession towards charting a new future for psychotherapy, psychotherapists and clients. This involves building new relationships between the profession of psychotherapy and other major players in addressing the challenges and opportunities of changes in regulation and patterns of practice.

Tom Warnecke Vice Chair Information and Member Services
As Vice Chair of Information and Member Services, Tom champions the development of UKCP services and member involvement in the organisation. He collaborates closely with UKCP staff, officers and volunteers to create a dynamic, inclusive and accessible professional body for the profession. Tom chairs several UKCP committees and introduced regional UKCP meetings in 2008. As International Officer, he represents UKCP on the Board of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). Tom has been a UKCP vice chair since 2008.
Tom maintains a psychotherapy practice in London and facilitates psychotherapy training and CPD courses in the UK and in Croatia. He has also worked in community mental health services and has published several journal papers and book chapters.

Philippa Whittick Vice Chair Education, Training, Practice and Research
Philippa currently works in a CAMHS Team with children, young people and families, and prior to that worked in adult mental health for a number of years. After an early start in academia as a theologian and philosopher, she discovered a passion for public sector services, moving into the contracting of specialist health and social care services in the 1990s. Before moving to Cornwall and her current life in 2002, Philippa lectured in Counselling Psychology at London University.
Philippa is responsible, in collaboration with the Chair, for education, training, practice and research considerations in psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic practice including diversity and equality considerations of such work.

Carmen Joanne Ablack UKCP Trustee Chair of Promoting Occupational Practice Committee
Carmen is an elected UKCP Trustee. She is an advisor and consultant on special projects to the Chair and Chief Executive. Carmen helps lead on liaison with external bodies and organisations, including assured registration and regulation and on strategic issues and initiatives. Carmen chairs the promoting occupational practice committee, which identifies and prioritises UKCP work in relation to employer bodies including NHS, private, statutory and voluntary sectors and private practice settings.
Carmen was formerly standards board chair, chair of the education and training committee and a member of the executive committee of UKCP. She is a former chair of CABP and is currently a lead assessor for HIPC. She was awarded an honorary fellowship of UKCP in December 2010 and is a member of the psychotherapy council.

Inger Gordon Chair of the College and Faculties Committee
Inger is a family and systemic psychotherapist working in adult mental health services in the NHS, and in private practice as a trainer, supervisor and consultant.
Inger has been involved in UKCP projects since around 2005 when she became a delegate for KCC. She joined the Ethics committee and has served as vice chair on the College and Faculties Committee. She is currently Chair of the College for Family, Couple and Systemic Therapy.
Inger's role as Chair of the College and Faculties Committee is to co-ordinate the modalities' approach to standards and quality assurance, embedded in inclusive practice and in the governance processes of the UKCP. Committee members work together to support the development and maintenance of Faculties, and to facilitate the Colleges in assessing and re-accrediting their organisational and individual members. |

Frank Rodrigues Treasurer
Frank is a banker and solicitor specialising in structured finance. He has worked across a wide range of transactions across Europe, Asia and the US.
As Treasurer, Frank's role is to maintain an overview of the organisation's affairs, ensure the financial viability of the organisation and guarantee that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.

Alan McConnon Registrar
Alan previously worked for the General Medical Council and his background is in regulation. However since he has been at UKCP he has become fascinated by the relevancy of psychotherapy to everyday life and how psychotherapists are able to use the various philosophies of psychotherapy to tackle issues and make real differences to lives.
As Registrar, Alan is responsible for working with relevant UKCP committees in maintaining the integrity of the UKCP Registers, ensuring processes and procedures are in place to obtain the information relevant to supporting an individual's application to UKCP and overseeing the annual random audit of individual members.
