Training Standards CommitteeWhat is the work of the Training Standards Committee (TSC)? The TSC contributes to the work of the Standards Board (SB). They develop and set the minimum training standards and regulations, in consultation with Sections, Colleges, Institutional Members and Member Organisations. It is a practical working committee that addresses the variety of issues relating to training and development in the fields of psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling. The TSC has delegated authority from the SB to develop and recommend minimum training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) standards required of: o UKCP Sections and Colleges Reviewing training standards The TSC monitors, reviews and reports to the Standards Board on the training standards of the sections, colleges, institutional members and when requested, member organisations. They also work on developing occupational standards for psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling. An advisory role The Training Standards Committee provides advice to UKCP Sections, Colleges, Institutional Members and Member Organisations in matters relating to training standards. Sharing best practice The Training Standards Committee has responsibility for the newly established UKCP Supervision Conference and contributes to other UKCP delivered conferences, depending on the programme. How is the Training Standards Committee comprised? The TSC membership comes from the Sections and Colleges training standards committee chairs and/or their representatives, and Institutional Members. They invite representatives from other committees of UKCP to attend meetings as required by the work of the group. The Chair of the Standards Board also holds the role of Chair of the Training Standards Committee.
