About Me

It can be daunting and overwhelming to figure out which counsellor or psychotherapist to choose from, that will fit your needs best. However the important part is that you have started your journey of wanting to understand yourself better.

Hello, my name is Ruzina, I’m glad you are considering me as your therapist, which is an important choice, as the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client is the essence of a good outcome of therapy.

Respect, honesty, safety and empathy are the pillars of my long established confidential psychotherapy counselling practice. I offer a warm safe non-judgmental therapeutic supportive environment in which we can work together.

Are you having trouble with what you are currently experiencing? Personal difficulties take many forms; anxiety, self-esteem, depression, lacking confidence, trauma, anger-management, stress, cultural and religious struggles, or relationship problems. Such difficulties can leave you feeling low, making it hard to get the best out of life and work.

We all are vulnerable to stereotyping, as I have experienced stereotype in my own life, it is my intention and zeal to motivate and support your journey and growth in whatever identities and struggles you are experiencing. I’ve developed expertise in my field, our mutual humanity is paramount for me, whilst being insightful, supportive and challenging. I’m also seen as approachable, gentle, having a sense of humour and a balanced viewpoint.

I’ve worked with people all my life in the public sector, education and caring professions, where I have used my relational skills to build good relationships. In my career so far, I have worked and supported people of all ages, genders, races, religions, and cultural backgrounds. I have enjoyed this rich experience of diversity and uniqueness.


I don’t come with a set of expectation about you and appreciate that coming to therapy can be daunting and take time to settle. I offer long and short term therapy and personal developmental work to individuals. With my multi-lingual background, other than English, I provide therapy additionally in; Urdu, Bengali, Hindi, Mirpuri, and Punjabi, which gives you the flexibility to choose which language you feel expressing in. Therefore, I also offer culturally sensitive and culturally inclusive therapy if needed.


After an initial mutual assessment, where you can get a feel of my style and the therapeutic environment, then we can agree whether or not to work with each other, and how to go ahead.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to gain a better understanding of the issues that are troubling you, and enable you to work through obstacles and help your personal growth and feel more creative, satisfied and fulfilled.

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anger is a normal emotion, but when it becomes difficult to control and starts affecting relationships and overall well-being, it's important to seek support. I specialize in helping individuals manage and express their anger in healthy ways. Through therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness, I assist clients in understanding the root causes of their anger and developing effective strategies for anger management. Together, we can work towards fostering healthier communication and emotional regulation.
Anxiety can be overwhelming and debilitating, but I am here to offer guidance and support. I specialise in helping individuals with anxiety disorders manage their symptoms, develop relaxation techniques, and build resilience. Together, we can work towards reducing anxiety and creating a more balanced and calm state of mind.
I am sensitive to the impact of cultural factors on mental health and well-being. I specialise in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering a culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic approach. By understanding and respecting the unique experiences and perspectives of each client, I strive to create a safe space where cultural issues can be addressed and explored.
In my therapeutic practice, I specialise in providing support for individuals struggling with depression. I understand the profound impact that depression can have on one's life, and I am dedicated to helping clients navigate through their emotions, develop coping strategies, and regain a sense of hope and joy. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome the challenges that come with this mental health condition. I provide a compassionate and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and regain a sense of hope and happiness in their lives.
