I provide an understanding and nurturing environment, and seek to help clients to feel listened to and to feel comfortable with opening up their true self. I believe that therapy can assist a client with unlocking their values to bring a renewed sense of purpose to their life. Through therapy, clients can manage their lives to be more meaningful and satisfying and also to successfully negotiate and come to terms with past, present and future dilemmas and crisis that affect them. I have an existential approach, which focuses on a philosophical understanding of a client’s place in the world and a clarification of what it means to them to be alive. Rather than taking a single interpretive approach, I am open to the many ways that a client can find meaning from their life and believe that therapy can help further widen the client’s perspective on themselves and the world around them.
With a background as a City lawyer, I have an interest in stress and conflicts in the workplace and also the pressures and crisis of purpose that can come with modern life, which can cause a feeling entrapment, anger and frustration. If these issues are not addressed in a healthy way, they can lead to damaging coping strategies that can have a negative impact on relationships and personal health.
