Statutory regulation of psychotherapy

UKCP has always advocated statutory regulation as a mechanism to protect the public interest and to give psychotherapy professional recognition and responsibility, as well as to unite the profession.

The Government is now commited to introducing statutory regulation, through the Health Professions Council (HPC).

UKCP is represented on the HPC Professional Liaison Group, and is also actively engaged in discussions with different government and professional bodies to influence the form regulation takes.
