Organisational History
Background Information
Over recent years there has been a growing recognition of psychoanalytical couple psychotherapy as a distinctive discipline with the field of psychoanalytical psychotherapy. The SCPP roots its thinking in the concepts of psychoanalytical psychotherapy while using its work with couples to enrich and expand object relations theory.
In order to benefit the public, The Society aims through advancing the education of psychoanalytic couple psychotherapists, to maintain and raise standards, to promote its practice and increase public awareness of the profession. In this way it hopes to ensure that as many couples as possible to find the services of highly trained psychotherapists when they are in the need of help. Training Course Selection & Admission
