Theoretical orientation We aim to 'think psychoanalysis differently'. The training engages with historical and political contexts in the development of psychoanalysis and is informed by contemporary philosophies. This approach enables us to foster a clinical practice that pays attention to the diversity of social and cultural experiences of contemporary life. Central to this is a particular concern with deleloping practices that can more sensitively attend to people and communities on the social margins. The Site believes that psychoanalysis is an enthralling intellectual project. We encourage a spirit of passionate enquiry into current debates within pychoanalysis, philosophy and phenomenology as well as post-modernism and feminist theory. When all requirements are fulfilled by the trainee to the training committee's satisfaction, they may proceed, via tutor, to the 'pass'. Graduation leads to full membership of the Site and membership of UKCP. The Site training comprises three terms and one weekend each year. Please refer to Training Brochure for further detail. The Site has a code ethics, which accords to UKCP standards. Training No Yes Yes | ||||
