HUMANISTIC & INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY SECTIONRe-Vision Centre for Intergrative Psychosynthesis Counselling and Psychotherapy (Re-Vision) 97 Brondesbury Road, Queen's Park, London NW6 6RY Organisational History Re-Vision is an educational charity and non-profit limited company originally established in 1988 as a counselling and psychotherapy training centre with a transpersonal and integrative perspective based on the principles of Psychosynthesis. It is a training and accrediting member of UKCP and a member of the European Federation of Psychosynthesis Psychotherapists (EFPP). The organisational structure comprises a board of Trustee/Directors who devolve authority to a Management Executive Committee (MEC) responsible for conducting the business of the organisation. The Training Committee is responsible for the direction and policy of the counselling and psychotherapy training as well as making decisions about other training matters. The ReoVision Council includes representatives from the student and graduate bodies, training and administrative staff, and is the means for democratic representation to the MEC and Trustees. Training Course Selection & Admission Admission is by application and individual interview having attended the Transitions course - a seven-day introduction to the Integrative Psychosynthesis model. Applicants are considered on the basis of their academic and professional qualification, their previous training, experience within the helping professions, life experience and maturity, capacity for independent study, previous individual psychotherapy, group experience and readiness to face a demanding training. Application into the Post-Diploma part of the training (Stage IV) is also possible for those who have successfully completed training elsewhere, comparable to Stages I-III. An APL procedure to ensure equivalence and interview is needed for selection. Where there are gaps and discrepancies of background, candidates will be required to complete additional training before entry. Training Course Requirements Personal therapy Weekly sessions with a UKCP registered psychotherapist approved by the Training Committee are required throughout the training (min of 35 hrs/year). A clear boundary is maintained between training therapists and the training team. Clinical/clients Clients are seen under supervision from the second year of training. Initially these are clients at a placement. Private clients are only seen after a license to practice has been agreed in Stage 3. Continuous self- and peer-assessment is monitored by Tutors.
Theoretical orientation Integrative Psychosynthesis uses the open attitude of Psychosynthesis as a basis from which to integrate innovative approaches to psychotherapy. Our approach is influenced by James Hillman - we see the experience of 'soul' as emerging from the experience of shadow and depth. The theory integrates Archetypal and Jungian ideas, while also drawing on methods and concepts within Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Developmental and Family Systems. The 'inside-out' learning style developed at ReoVision encourages a dynamic and interactive forum in which students are accepted as co-learners in a mutual educative process. The curriculum is divided into five year stages and includes:
Post-Diploma Training for Graduates Accreditation, graduation, membership Students who have successfully graduated are eligible for UKCP accreditation.
