Psychotherapy with Children Committee

The UKCP Psychotherapy with Children Committee aims to:

  • challenge disadvantage in childhood and promote the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people
  • develop standards of psychotherapy training, practice, research and professional development which are evidence-based and centred on the needs of the child across a range of modalities
  • work nationally in partnership with agencies and disciplines involved in the promotion of children's emotional health and well-being
  • influence government policy through policy development and advocacy
  • participate In high quality research and work from an evidence-based perspective
  • disseminate information on specialist psychotherapy with children to all those working with children and young people, and to children, young people and their carers.
