Organisational History The Trust is a registered educational charity which was founded in 1965 by Dr Roberto Assagioli. The Trust offers three-or five-year part-time professional training in counselling and psychotherapy, leading to an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy validated by the University of East London. The Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling, also validated by the University of East London is BACP accredited. The Trust offers a programme of educational courses for the public, ongoing courses for professional development, and an assessed Counselling Service for the public. Training Course Selection & Admission Qualification in the helping professions or a university degree. Those without formal qualifications who demonstrate sufficient maturity, life experience, and capability to pursue such a course responsibly are welcome to apply. A minimum of one year of individual therapy is usually required prior to application. Successful completion of Essentials of Psychosynthesis intensive short course is a prerequisite to entry. Counsellors qualified in other modalities may enter the MA programme upon successful completion of an additional one-year Graduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Counselling, which is also validated by the University of East London. The Trust has a recognised policy for Accreditation of Prior and Experiential Learning (APEL) for students wishing to transfer from other trainings to the second year of the PG Diploma course, and applications for the MA training considered from graduates from other psychosynthesis trainings.
