Training to become a UKCP therapist

If you are already a member of UKCP and looking to renew your membership please go to the renewals section.

If you would like to become a member of UKCP, you can do this by going through one of our many organisational members.

The most common route to becoming a member is to complete an accredited training with an organisational member of UKCP. On completion of their training an individual automatically becomes eligible for membership.

A number of our organisational members accredit practising therapists who have not trained with a member of UKCP.

Please see the organisational member (OM) list below showing which of our organisational members offer training and/or accrediting.

The colleges and faculties statement below will show all the different types of psychotherapy. Pick the one that relates to your modality and then contact the organisational member to ask what requirements are needed to join UKCP.

Please send the appropriate application form (below) plus the 'membership consent to data' document to the organisation of your choice making the cheque payable to your organisational member for the amount stated on the application form. On receipt of the form which has been counter signed by the organisation we will then send you a welcome pack with your UKCP certificate.
