Susie Orbach

Summary of interests and expertise: Professor Orbach brings a psychoanalytic lens to a series of social, policy, interpersonal and individual concerns. She has written much about women's psychology and the construction of femininity, gender, the making of the body, psychoanalysis and social policy, eating difficulties, obesity to anorexia, women and brands, globalism and body image, emotional literacy in business, education and government. Specifically within psychoanalysis, her interests are the body, gender, counter-transference and the psychotherapy relationship. She has been consultant to The World Bank and is currently consultant to the NHS and to DOVE (Unilever).

Summary of interests and expertise: Professor Samuels is recognised internationally as an innovator in the field of psychotherapy and as a commentator from a psychotherapy point of view on social and political issues, relationships, gender and sexuality, cultural trends, fatherhood and men's issues, and questions of values and spirituality. He is an experienced radio and television broadcaster and has published in many newspapers and magazines.

He is Professor of Analytical Psychology at the University of Essex, Visiting Professor of Psychoanalytic Studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and Honorary Professor of Psychology and Therapeutic Studies at Roehampton University. He is a Jungian Analyst in private clinical practice in London and a Training Analyst of the Society of Analytical Psychology.

Andrew was the co-founder of Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility and of Antidote, the Campaign for Emotional Literacy. He is a Patron of the Work-Life Balance Trust. He is the Consultant to Immigrant Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is current holder of the Hans Loewald Award for distinguished services of the International Federation for Psychotherapy Education.

Andrew has written many books which have been translated into 19 languages, the most recent of which was the award-winning Politics on the Couch.

Summary of interests and expertise: Brett Kahr is one of Great Britain's most distinguished mental health professionals, as well as a very experienced media psychotherapist.  Brett has worked for twenty-two years as an individual adult psychotherapist, and during the last decade as a psycho-analytical marital psychotherapist. A past Marshall Scholar at the University of Oxford, and a former University Fellow at Yale University, Brett Kahr has worked in both the public sector and the private sector as a Registered Psychotherapist with The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, specialising in psychotherapeutic work with learning disabled, handicapped, psychotic, and forensic patients, and with marital couples and families, and with creative artists. He maintains a private practice as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in Hampstead, in North London.
 
He has appeared on many television programmes since 1985 and most recently, he has become the Resident Psychotherapist for B.B.C. Radio 2, and for their new year-long campaign "Life to Live", which launched on 23rd July, 2004. He is a prolific author of several mental health publications on topics from schizophrenia to sexual fantasy. Brett has also been a presenter of a TV documentary called, 'Britain's Sexual Fantasies' as well as a four part BBC Two series, 'Making Slough Happy'.

Summary of interests and expertise: Aaron Balick is a writer, lecturer, and psychotherapist in private practice living in London. He contributes to both popular and trade press, including his role as "Ask Aaron," the regular agony uncle for the children's BBC website and interactive television.  His role as "Ask Aaron" includes regular television appearances and live web chats. Additionally he sits on the lecturing panel for continuing education at Birkbeck College teaching a course on Freud and Sexuality and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Essex.

Judi's background is in mental health, social services, the NHS and private practice. She has worked as a psychosexual and relationship therapist and psychotherapist for the last twenty years. Judi was the first person in the UK to achieve an MSc in psychosexual therapy. She has written several papers and articles, facilitates groups and gives lectures in the UK and overseas. Judi regularly contributes to writing new policy documentation for a variety if agencies.

He founded the Sattva Center to integrate Western psychology and Eastern spirituality: MindBalancing is a result of this work. He is Author of 'The Only Way Out is In' (Jon Carpenter, 2001) and MindBalancing Meditation CD (The Sattva Center, 2006).
