A UKCP report brings direct practical experience to bear on a proposal for the design and delivery of psychological therapies within the NHS.

Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham's suggestion that a Labour government might create a cabinet level post for mental health is exactly the kind of imaginative gesture that all psychotherapists and counsellors will welcome. Unfortunately, his speech to the Centre for Social Justice, outlining Labour's intention to foreground mental health in the future development of the NHS, disappoints in other respects.

UKCP has again expressed serious concern about a controversial conference held today in London. The conference was widely condemned by community, and lesbian and gay groups when it was held in Belfast under the title The Lepers Amongst Us: Homosexuality and the Life of the Church earlier this month. The conference organiser, Core-Issues Trust, has been widely criticised by professional organisations for its expressed wish to work with gay men and lesbians seeking to change their sexual orientation.

Charity Business, the organisation which collected and processed our direct debits has ceased trading. This has left us without a direct debit supplier at very short notice and it will take several months to set up a replacement.
