Organisational History
The Forum for Independent Psychotherapists is a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. It is committed to a critical evaluation of theoretical difference and provides a forum where psychoanalytic psychotherapists of different orientations can meet to examine clinical and theoretical issues. FiP came into being in early 1997 to meet the need for a non-aligned, pluralistic, psychoanalytic organisation, and has attracted members from across the country and abroad. FiP is an accrediting organisation of the Analytical Psychology & Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy section of the UKCP.
