External Affairs Committee

Formerly the Political Action Group, this committee is being reconfigured.

The objectives of the Political Action Group were:

  • to secure the position of psychotherapy as an essential asset within society, recognised as such by key decision makers and the public
  • to ensure that the multiplicity of approaches represented by UKCP are available as real choices for NHS patients
  • to ensure that the profession has the freedom to develop and improve diverse ways of serving the public
  • to secure and enhance the position of UKCP as the leading ethical, educational and representative body for psychotherapists practising in the UK and recognised as such in Europe.
