Annual audit 2011 FAQs

If the online Audit Statement or the Audit Guidance Notes do not answer your questions, please refer to the FAQ below.

1. Why is there an annual audit?

UKCP undertakes annual random audits of individual members to maintain the integrity of our register and regulation standards.

2. When is the due date for my audit submission?

Your submission should have been signed off by your UKCP organisation's Chair or Chief Executive (or your UKCP college's Chair in the case of direct members) and then submitted to UKCP by 10 June 2011.

3. When will the audit review process finish?

We anticipate that the audit review process will conclude before the end of December.

4. What if my Chair is away or unavailable to review my audit submission?

Someone at your organisation or college must review your submission to verify that you meet their requirements. This could include the person who reviews the 5 year re-accreditation submissions.

5. What if I do not have all of the documents required for the audit?

a. If you do not have qualification certificates, you must include evidence of accreditation, as per the Audit Guidance Notes. This could include original accreditation correspondence from your organisation or original letters of recommendation for acceptance into your organisation.

b. If you have further queries regarding your documentation, please email the Quality Assurance and Regulation team at for assistance.

6. I just completed a 5 year re-accreditation. Do I have to submit paperwork again?

Yes. Even though both may require similar documents for submission, you still need to submit the required documents to UKCP for the audit as your organisation or college re-accreditation is an entirely different process to the UKCP audit.

7. How often could a UKCP member be chosen for audit?

Members will be selected randomly for audit from a list of members who have not been a part of the annual audit in the previous 3 years.

8. What if I am/have been on sabbatical or I am not practising currently?

You must first notify your organisation of your circumstances (or college, in the case of direct members). You must be in compliance with the UKCP CPD policy, as well as your organisation and college CPD policies, regarding sabbatical. As the audit is for the past year's practise, and you should have been following policy for completion of CPD, this should not cause problems completing an audit submission.

Please email for any additional queries not answered in the FAQ above, in the online Audit Statement or the Audit Guidance Notes.
