Can psychotherapy exist without diverse ways of working?

Can psychotherapy exist without diverse ways of working?
At UKCP we believe that the availability of different kinds of therapy is essential for people's health and well-being. Different types of therapy will suit different people at different times.

Psychotherapy is still a young and evolving profession, and to try and arbitrarily restrict the way that therapy is practiced, when we still don't understand in full how psychotherapy works, will stultify its development to the detriment of future generations.

Some people are better informed than others about the difference between different types of psychotherapy. Many are not or don't want to have to be informed. But everyone wants and has a right to safe and effective psychotherapy or psychotherapeutic counselling.
