Seminar group on philosophy and psychoanalysis
The aim of the seminar will be to make philosophy accessible and a resource for counsellors and psychotherapists. It will cover themes such as; the Socratic dialogue, the dialectics of recognition, various philosophies of transformation and working through and the implications of the 'Death of God' and the role of the negative in European philosophy. We will cover the major issues from the classics, phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics, structuralism and deconstruction.

Regional Connections is an open forum for perspectives and themes relevant to individual practitioners and Member Organisations in the regions.  Like many organisations, UKCP is seen as more active and visible in London and the South East. We want to encourage and support more regional activities and local networks across the country.
The day will include with an update on statutory regulation developments and a consultation workshop on the Shape Development Process.  We will look at the process and requirements for UKCP to become an organisation with both the individual and organisational membership, and consult on the decisions we need to make to achieve this.
