I take an integrative approach in my practice considering the needs of each of my clients, as unique human beings in the process of growing and developing. I hold that as humans we are shaped by our relationships (both past and present) and that it is through the therapeutic relationship that healing and change can occur. In practice I thus seek to create and maintain a therapeutic relationship with each of my clients through non-judgemental inquiry, sensitive attunement, and authentic involvement.
Key influences on my approach and clinical practice include Kohut (self psychology), Bowlby (attachment theory), Kahn (psychodynamic), and Rogers (person-centred). I am also trained in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) interventions, which I occasionally draw upon, if desired by the client.
I am an integrative psychotherapist offering counselling, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I have worked as a counsellor and psychological therapist for various charitable organisations and the NHS. Since 2015 I have been working as a private therapist seeing clients on a face to face basis. Recently I have moved my private practice online. I am also studying a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and hope to qualify in 2022.
