My approach will be dependent on each individual's specific needs. My original training was in transactional analysis and I still draw on this wide body of knowledge in the therapeutic field. I regularly update my skills and knowledge drawing on different modalities and research.
I am an experienced psychotherapist and supervisor, having worked in Maidstone for over 25 years. My practice is situated within a short distance of Maidstone town centre and the M20, at junction 7.
I offer short and longer term psychotherapy and welcome enquiries from members of the public and from potential colleagues who are looking for a supervisor (group or 1:1).
If you approach me about psychotherapy you may be bringing one or a number of concerns and have felt that your own support network isn't enough. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, abuse, relationship and gender concerns, bereavement, illness and loss. Sometimes an individual might feel overwhelmed with everyday life, without there being a specific issue to address. You may also be interested in more general personal growth and understanding. Whatever the agenda, I offer a 'stand alone' session first, so that you can discuss your concerns and we can decide if working together would be beneficial.
I am a Transactional Analyst by training, accredited by the European Association for Transactional Analysis and a member of United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis. I have a long-standing interest in holistic health and wellbeing, community and the importance of the environment for mental wellness. I also have experience in working with those who identify with the autism or Asperger syndrome.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
