In these times of lockdown and Covid-19 I have moved more of my work online and done trainings in how to do body oriented work via video link. It works surprisingly well and I'm looking forward to exploring this more with my new clients. I've started a training in and working with IFS (Internal Family Systems), one of the cutting edge trauma therapies and it lends itself very well to online work.
In the 1990ies I trained as a Body Oriented Psychotherapist with the Gerda Boyesen Centre. Over many years of work I have integrated other approaches and today I have a diverse toolkit I can use to support each client to her or his individual needs. I still find that words are so often not enough and won't reach where we need to go in order to implement deep changes and healing. I love and enjoy my work and build my practice on a deep respect for each client coming through my literal or virtual door and their journey in life. Compassion and kindness are key attributes to creating a safe and trusting relationship, where challenges and confrontations - if necessary - can be embraced. I include Mindfulness practices, Trauma Sensitive Yoga exercises, Meditation and touch (in agreement with the client only) in my work.
