I have trained as a group analyst and as a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I am a member of the Institute of Group Analysis (a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and the Association of Medical Psychodynamic Psychotherapists (a member organisation of the British Psychoanalytic Council). I am fully up-to-date with the continuing professional development and supervisory requirements of the British Psychoanalytic Council and the Institute of Group Analysis (a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy). I am also trained in mentalisation-based therapy and EMDR for those needing trauma-based therapy.
I am registered, licenced and in good-standing with the General Medical Council and on the specialist register as a consultant psychiatrist. I am also a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
I can help with conditions and issues such as depression; anxiety; personality disorder; eating disorders; relationship problems; loss and bereavement; stress, trauma and abuse; or perhaps even just a vague feeling of dissatisfaction with your life. I have particular interests in LGBTQ+ mental health; older adult mental health; the mental health of health and social work professionals; medically unexplained symptoms; and living with long-term physical health conditions. My field of practice, however, is not solely limited to these areas. I can provide individual and group based therapies on a short or long term basis depending on your needs. Sessions are typically weekly, but this can be negotiated during the initial consultation assessment.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
