I am an Integrative Psychotherapist/supervisor/groupwork facilitator and I draw on humanistic and psychodynamic theories as well as infant/child developmental studies and neuroscience. The integration is around working with the unique individual to help them flourish into their most authentic self.
Hello. I work as a private psychotherapist and supervisor from my office which is at my home premises. I work face to face or over zoom, with individuals, couples and groups. My main specialism is working with people who have had difficult childhoods; we often need help to learn how to reconnect with ourselves and others and to fashion a life that is more satisfying. I would describe the way I work as kind but effective and seek to keep a clear focus on whatever needs to be tackled to create growth and recovery. I picture the therapy process as growing more of our 'adulting' skills whilst also learning to recognise, accept and prize our 'wounded inner child' and liberating our eternal inner child which is that part of us that is uniquely 'me' and like a child, full of creativity, spontaneity and life. My approach is mainly as a 'talking therapist' but when we need to use a more embodied or creative approach this is equally available.
I also work as a therapist with counselling / psychotherapy students in training and run CPD training workshops for therapists on the 'inner child' and 'shame'. I also work as a supervisor with people working pastorally.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
